Our Unique Philosophy

Life Care Planning Law Group has a unique and different way to deliver legal service to todays seniors and their children.
Attorney John Welch has practiced in all areas of Elder and Family Law handling and litigating complex cases from guardianship contests and Medicaid appeal, to adoption and complex divorce, and to estate planning and will contests.

At each level of his career, Attorney Welch has valued and embraced the areas of legal practice that are traditionally NOT recognized as in “practice of law.”  When confronting the increasing needs of our loved ones as they age many questions arise:  “Should my parents be in a nursing home?  Assisted living?  Is there any way to keep them at home?  What if my mom falls again?  Should dad be driving?” These are not legal questions, yet any compassionate elder law attorney will want to help to provide solutions to them and other questions.  Understanding the tremendous need for compassionate guidance and consistency, Attorney Welch has developed his practice specifically to meet these needs.  Practicing since 1990 exclusively in family interests, he has developed a network of relationships, contacts, and knowledge of all issues related to elders and families.  He employs and has associated with highly motivated and talented professionals to be certain his clients receive excellent and wholistic care.

Attorney Welch is the owner and president of Life Care Planning Law Group and is also the co-owner of ParentCareUSA with Attorney Andrew G. Christensen.  While Life Care Planning Law Group, the Christensen Law Firm and ParentCareUSA share resources and a deep commitment to service elders, each is a separate legal entity, some with common ownership.  Life Care Planning Law Group benefits from its professional relationship with ParentCareUSA and the Christensen Law Firm by sharing a commitment to wholistic, thorough and dedicated attention to each client.  Despite the different legal entities, our commitment to a seamless and comprehensive product is firm and enhanced by these partnerships.

Attorney Welch is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and an active advocate in the local Massachusetts Chapter.  His is a member of the Life Care Planning Law Firm Association as well as the Aging Life Care Association.
